Economics department started right from the beginning of this college i.e from 1989. Earlier it was a under graduate department taught as an optional subject to the students of BA. In the year 2014-15, M.A. in economics started and it became a post graduate department. The department has a sanctioned post of 01 professor and 01 Asst. Prof.

Plan of Action
1. We will pursue the govt.to fill up the vacant post in the department.
2. We will make full use ofthe ICT facility available in the department. Audio-visual teaching method willbe used to improve the result.
3. Special doubt classes willbe organized to improve the result both in terms of quantity as well asquality. Model answers will be provided to the students.
4. To improve the enrolmentin the department, the achievements of the department will be highlighted inthe college notice board. The students of B. Com. III will be contacted &encouraged to take admission in MA Eco.
5. For personalitydevelopment of the students, spoken English classes along with personalitydevelopments classes will be organized.
6. More funds will bedemanded from the college management for purchase of books and journals &maximum use of available resources will be ensured.
7. All efforts will be madefor providing financial assistance to the economically weak students.
8. Class seminar, undergraduate teaching by PG students, group discussion on current financial eventswill be organized.
9. Bridge course for thosestudents who had not taken economics in under-graduate will be organized.
10. Guest lecture will be organized more often.
